After a wonderful vacation in California visiting the In-laws, I have diverted my attention back to getting this blog started. It’s been such a long time since I actually installed Wordpress on my site, I have completely forgotten what the password is. So thus starts the story…
- Try every known password that I have ever used in my life…
- Hey wait, what was the user name? (ut oh…)
- Resigning to the fact I could not get the combination correct, I push the “forgot password” link.
- Wait for email.
- No email!
- Wait more.
- Still, no email.
- Bet they sent the email to old email adress I don’t use anymore except for SPAM…better go look.
- It was there.
- Damn! Time limited expired..shouldn’t have waited so long. Try again! Back to step 3 skipping steps 4-7!
- Reset password using link.
- Wordpress now informs me that my software is about ten versions old and I should at least get with this century’s software.
- No go through the whole process of downloading software and upload it to my site.
- What was my FTP account and password? …. Utt oh! Better contact my host company…
- Who is my web hosting company?
- And the process continues.
But as you can now see, I was able to actually update my software and type in this wonderful post.
Needless to say, I didn’t play poker tonight! Maybe tomorrow.
