It appears that hog hunting may be a necessity soon in Florida. Wild boar populations are booming in Floridas parks and wildlife refuges. Unfortunately, they are highly destructive and not natural to the area. Florida has the second largest wild hog population after Texas. Check out the link below.

I have been fortunate to enjoy both the labor of hunting some of these creatures and enjoying the fine smoked pork from them. I must admit I have gained a greater respect of where our food comes from. When I asked my oldest son (age 6) where his food comes from he answered the grocery store where mom buys it. Now of course he understands where it comes from better, and to boot, he even ask for wild boar for dinner!
